Malvern at War - The story of Malvern and its veterans in the World Wars 1914-1945.

For King and Country, 1914-1918

Many schools put up beautiful illustrated lists of former students who were killed in the wars. They were formal objects with ornate calligraphy showing the names of the men who died between 1914 and 1921 (when the war officially ended). Some of these lists are hanging on the schools’ walls, while others have been stored away somewhere, or lost altogether. Malvern’s framed list for the First World War, if it exists, is missing. We do have the one for the Second World War . The names below are also attached in hand-carved lead letters to the War Memorial at the front of the school.

Some of the names in the list below are linked to feature articles about the soldier in the War Stories section. This list is static but the people on it are still searchable in the database. For First World War personnel, details are more complete as access to records is open.
